TEA, SD (KELO AM) – One person died Saturday afternoon in a motorcycle-vehicle crash that occurred south of Tea, S.D.
Names of those involved are not being released pending notification of family members.
A 2005 Hyundai Sonata was exiting Interstate 29 on the southbound off-ramp at mile marker 71. The vehicle came to a complete stop at the intersection and then proceeded to turn east onto 273rd Street. It collided with a westbound 2002 Harley-Davidson FXDWG3 motorcycle.
The motorcycle driver, who was not wearing a helmet, died of his injuries. The driver of the vehicle, who was wearing a seatbelt, suffered minor injuries.
The crash scene area was closed to traffic for several hours.
Officials of the South Dakota Highway Patrol continue to investigate. Other agencies at the scene were Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Tea Fire and Rescue and Paramedics Plus.
