A case that has been in the works since 2014 has been resolved. Jaime Aroldo Duarte-Lopez was indicted by federal grand jury in Decmeber of 2015 on charges of Consiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine and five counts of Distribution of Methamphetamine. Duarte-Lopex was found guilty on all counts after a trial on January 22nd of this year.
Duarte-Lopez, who distributed more than 175 grams of methamphetamine to a confidential informant, was sentenced to 97 months in custody and a $600 special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund.
175 grams is just over 6 ounces, or 1/3 of a pound.
