SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Sioux Falls Parks and Rec unveiled a re-branded logo today that the director describes as vibrant and strong reflecting the condition of the system.
Don Kearney says the logo is modern, easily identifiable and will carry parks and rec into the future.
Kearney says the re-branding started two years ago with the assistance of HenkinSchultz to get feedback from city leaders, parks board members, other city departments and residents. That input helped to develop a marketing plan and create an improved logo representing growth, vitality and strength of Parks and Rec.
The department includes over 80 parks, the new Midco Aquatic Center that will open this fall, over 150 special events that take place on public property, over 28 miles of paved bike path and athletic and recreational play.
Sioux Fall Parks and Rec holds the honor of being in the top one percent of like systems nationwide.
The new logo will start showing up across the community and will grace the cover of the Summer Activities Guide coming out next month.
