Sioux Falls, SD (KELO-AM) The eyes of the Hockey World will be on Sioux Falls January 10.
The Sioux Falls Stampede announced on Thursday that the NHL Top Prospects Game will be held at the Sanford Premier Center.
Dozens of the "best of the best" USHL players will skate their hearts out as scouts from all the NHL teams watch closely for future stars.
"We're gonna turn it into kind of like a big party," said Stampede CEO/President Tom Garrity at the press conference at the Denny, "so we are going to have a banquet the night before with a pretty high end speaker and some dignitaries from the hockey world, we're gonna do a fanfest and really going to try to take it to another level."
The great fan support for the Stampede had something to do with Sioux Falls snagging the big two-day event. Garrity says that some 200,000 people attended this season, which is a new attendance record.
Past Top Prospects Games have been hosted by Dubuque and Omaha.
