SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Another case of a victim who is eventually arrested on drug charges last night after claiming he was held up at gunpoint in a parking lot at 10th and Fairfax.
Officer Sam Clemens says 19-year-old Wyatt Arthur Reed of Sioux Falls says a man got into his pickup and asked him for a dollar.
Clemens says Reed refused the man's request and that's when he pulled a handgun and demanded money. Reed then told police that the bad man ordered him to drive around with no particular destination in mind.
Reed drove to a restaurant at 10th and Cleveland, jumped out of his pickup and called police.
When officers arrived the suspect was gone and Reed's story had some discrepencies in it. Officers brought in a drug dog who hit on Reed's pickup.
Police found cocaine residue on paraphernalia in his truck. Reed was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and the stickup man got away.
