SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Authorities arrested two, eighteen-year-old men and one seventeen-old-boy in connection with last week's BB gun vandalism spree in Sioux Falls that resulted in $43,000 in damage.
Sergeant Jason Gearman with the Minnehaha County Sheriff's Office says investigators got a license plate number from a gas skip in Brandon and two suspects tried pawning a BB gun.
When the incident began last week, a witness told Sioux Falls police she saw a dark, green-colored mini-van nearby.
Gearman says vandals shot out some windows in the Grace Baptist Church in Renner and the mini-van description came up again. A surveillance image from the Brandon gas skip showed the suspect vehicle and gave investigators the license plate which led them to the 17-year-old.
The two eighteen-year-olds tried pawning a BB gun at Badlands Pawn Shop and an off-duty police officer took notice and told investigators.
The three were interviewed Friday and investigators believe they can clear 90 to 100 vandalism cases.
The three, Sioux Falls-area teenagers have not been charged so their names have not been released.
