SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KLEO AM) - Sioux Falls police say a 58-year-old woman suffered life-threatening injuries when she was hit by a car while walking across Grange Avenue this morning.
Officer Sam Clemens says the driver of the car did not stop.
Clemens says witnesses describe the car as a silver or light blue, four-door, Honda Civic. He says the woman was hit and went up into the air. He says investigators aren't sure what part of the car she hit but believe there is front end damage and possibly a broken windshield. She was taken to nearby Sanford Hospital.
Clemens says the car may have been speeding.
The victim was crossing Grange near 21st Street with another woman who was not injured. They were not in a crosswalk. It happened around 7:15 Monday morning.
Clemens did not release the victim's hometown.
