Crooks, SD (KELO-AM) Law enforcement, including a SWAT team, staked out a storage unit near Crooks north of Sioux Falls on Thursday for nearly 12 hours, believing an armed man was inside. He wasn't.

Minnehaha County authorities says 41-year-old Micah Buum is still on the loose. They did find some stolen property inside the storage unit. Buum is wanted on several charges, including burglary.

County Sheriffs Chief Deputy Michelle Boyd says they eventually broke the lock on the storage unit and then used noise devices and tear gas. By then it was obvious that Buum was not inside. The storage facility is located near the Renner exit on Interstate 29.

Boyd says Buum is believed to be connected to a long string of burglaries in the Sioux Falls area. They've been trying to find him for weeks.

If you have any information that could help the authorities, please contact the Sioux Falls Area Joint Fugitive Task Force at 367-4614 or Crime Stoppers at 367-7007.
