SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The Downtown Trolley will continue running this summer thanks to a three week old fundraising effort that raised almost $40,000.
Brienne Maner with Downtown Sioux Falls says there were two big donations including a Lloyd Companies challenge to other downtown businesses.
Maner says Craig Lloyd issued a challenge to downtown businesses and the response was overwhelming. That challenge helped DTSF surpass its fundraising effort.
Maner says a pledge from Museum of Visual Materials put the trolley funding over the top. MoVm Executive Director Miranda Ochocki says they have so many visitors that use the trolley that they knew it is a service that they didn't want to see go away.
Trolley service begins Memorial Day from eleven to seven. The fair to ride the trolley will remain at $1.
