SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - South Dakota wasn't a state during the Civil War and yet there are some 347 veterans of that struggle buried in Minnehaha County alone.
Director of Siouxland Heritage Museum Bill Hoskins has undertaken a listing of the men who served during the War Between the States.
Hoskins says the greatest concentrations of Civil War graves in at Woodlawn and Mount Pleasant in Sioux Falls, Dell Rapids, Valley Springs and Hartford has a big concentration.
Hoskins recently helped Woodlawn get government markers for two veterans who served in the Civil and Indian Wars.
