SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) -Three unlocked vehicles, each with a handgun inside and all three weapons stolen out of the same south central Sioux Falls neighborhood last weekend.
Officer Sam Clemens says one of the unlocked cars was parked in a garage.
Clemens says a reminder to lock your vehicle at all times in Sioux Falls can never be given enough because too many people think no one will try getting in.
Don't leave valuables, wallets or purses in a car. Don't leave firearms in your vehicle, even if you lock it at all times.
He says you don't want to give thieves the opportunity to get a gun without going through any checks and selling them to other people.
Clemens says a wallet was taken from one of the vehicles.
The guns were stolen from vehicles on South Sweetbriar Court, South Venita Avenue and East 61st Street.
