Harrisburg, SD (KELO AM) - Emergency crews were called to Lake Alvin Tuesday night for a training exercise.
Roads around the lake were blocked off as crews from as far away as Larchwood, Iowa honed their firefighting and emergency management skills. Fire crews from the area also practiced a technique known as "drafting". The process includes drawing water from a source, such as a lake or pond, and transporting it to a fireground without it's own source of water.
Training lasted well into the night on Tuesday.
