Sioux Falls, SD (KELO AM) - Christmas was not merry for residents of a downtown Sioux Falls apartment building.
On December 25, 2013, at approximately 6:45 p.m., Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded to an apartment fire at 500 East 12th Street.
First-arriving crews found smoke and fire in the attic of a three-story multifamily dwelling. Crews evacuated the building and had the fire under control in approximately 20 minutes. No injuries were reported at this fire.
Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded with 2 support vehicles, 5 fire trucks, and 25 firefighters. The cause of the fire is under investigation. The apartment building did not have a sprinkler system.
Sioux Falls Fire Rescue would like to remind residents to leave the building when they hear the fire alarms.
