SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELLO AM) - Police say the investigation continues into the fatal two-vehicle accident at 10th and Sycamore early New Year’s Day.

Lieutenant Jerry Miller says 38-year-old Tanya Sanchez of Sioux Falls died from her injuries.

Miller says 20-year-old Oscar Madrigal of Sioux Falls is charged with his second D-W-I and vehicular homicide.

He says Sanchez was a passenger in a van driven by her 38-year-old husband Nigel.  Miller says blood/alcohol tests are being performed on both drivers as standard procedure in fatal car accidents.  He says those official results won't be known for about a week.

Miller says Madrigal is accused of driving through the flashing red light and hitting the van.

Nigel and another passenger were treated for minor injuries.
