New Year's patrol numbers are in

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELLO AM) - Sioux Falls Police made nine D-W-I arrests over the New Year’s patrol.

     Lieutenant Jerry Miller says 14 officers and two supervisors were added for six hours.  One of the D-W-I arrests was for 20-year-old Oscar Madrigal and his part in a fatal two vehicle accident at 10th and Sycamore.

     Miller says a total of 152 citations were written during the effort.  He says there were 23 speeding tickets and 11 open container citations.             

     Miller says police made 14 D-W-I arrests a year ago.
