Minneapolis, MN (KELO AM) - Dangerously cold weather is in the forecast for the area, and Xcel Energy is assuring customers that the energy resources are adequate, and that electric and natural gas systems are prepared.
Due to the expected demand for natural gas, nearly 600 business customers in Minnesota and North Dakota are being asked to reduce usage beginning at 9 a.m. tomorrow (Sunday). Those customers have previously agreed to reduce usage when asked in return for year around lower rates.
Xcel will have extra personnel in the field in case of a disruption.
