Public Open House I-229 Exit 5 (26th Street) Crossroad Corridor Study

The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT), City of Sioux Falls, and Sioux Falls Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) will hold its third public information meeting/open house to receive public input on the I-229 Exit 5 (26th Street) Crossroad Corridor Study. The open house will be informal allowing for one-on-one discussion with the study team.          

 

Date:     January 15, 2014  Time:  5:30 to 7:30 p.m. with a brief presentation at 5:35 p.m. Place:  John Harris Elementary School Gymnasium3501 East 49th StreetSioux Falls, SD

 

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the remaining options for improvements along 26th Street between Cliff Avenue and Cleveland Avenue, including improvement options to the 26th Street (Exit 5) Interchange along I-229. Area residents, business owners, and daily commuters are encouraged to attend and participate in the study. The Environmental Assessment process for the project is ongoing. Environmental considerations associated with Section 4(f) impacts to Rotary, Norlin, and Pasley parks, as well as Section 6(f) impacts to the Big Sioux River bike path are being considered.

SDDOT, City of Sioux Falls, MPO, and consultant staff will be available with displays after the presentation to discuss the study and answer your questions. During this time, you will also have the opportunity to present written comments. If you cannot attend the public meeting, please take the online survey which will allow us to gain feedback on the various conceptual options reviewed at the public meeting. The meeting exhibits will be available within ten days following this meeting at www.26thstreetcorridorstudy.com. Let us know your thoughts!
