SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Mayoral candidate Greg Jamison today endorsed installing sensors at every Sioux Falls intersection controlled by traffic lights to reduce wait times.
Jamison says the system, called Fast Track, controls the lights depending on traffic flow. He says depending on the lighting system, the city could improve traffic time and save drivers 50% of their travel time. He says that's exciting
Jamison says the sensors would cost about $15,000 at each intersection.
He says it’s part one of his “People First Initiative.”
The city will install Fast Track on East 26th Street this month and the state will put it on 41st Street this summer.
