SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - National figures show one in six seniors are threatened by hunger.
Nutrition Program Director at Active Generations Melissa Townsend says this is March for Meals Month.
Townsend says Meals on Wheels serves mainly homebound elderly over sixty. She says there’s been an increase of ten clients a month this winter so there’s a need for more drivers. Senior meals offer hot, nutritious meals every weekday which meet a third of an older person's dietary needs.
