SIOUX FALLS, S.D (KELO-AM) – Inanovate, Inc., a North Carolina-based company performing cutting-edge research alongside Sanford Health, has developed a technology to detect and measure multiple proteins for medical research and clinical diagnostics. The technology, if successful, could be used for breast cancer research and ultimately early diagnosis of the deadly disease, according to Inanovate, Inc. CEO, David Ure.
“According to the American Cancer Society, more than 232,000 women in the U.S. are diagnosed each year with breast cancer. Inanovate’s technology could revolutionize the way breast cancer is diagnosed and treated,” said Gov. Dennis Daugaard. “The South Dakota Technology Business Center in Sioux Falls is the perfect fit for this company and we are lucky to have them here.”
“There are many variables for why we chose to come to South Dakota,” said Ure. “First, working with Sanford Health has been a great experience, and I am looking forward to our continued collaboration. Second, we’ve been working closely with Sparton, based out of Watertown, where our platform’s bench-top scanners will be manufactured. Third, Sioux Falls is a central hub for many universities so access to those, as well as clinics, is critical. And finally, South Dakota’s tax infrastructure is much friendlier than other states’.”
Inanovate, Inc. already has its first employee in South Dakota and according to Ure, the company will be hiring more in the months to come.
