In conjunction with the League of Women Voters, the Sioux Falls Area Chamber will hold aMunicipal Candidate Forum on Wednesday, March 19 from 5:30-9 p.m. at Carnegie Town Hall (235 W. 10th St.).
The schedule is as follows:Mayoral: 5:30-6:30 p.m.At-Large Council “A” and “B”: 6:45-7:45 p.m.Central and Southeast District Council: 8- 9 p.m.
Each candidate will have one minute to make an opening statement, one minute to respond to various questions submitted from the audience through a moderator and one minute to make concluding remarks. The event is open to the public and the local media will be invited. In addition, CityLink will broadcast the event live and on several re-broadcast dates. Call-in and email questions from the viewing audience will also be accepted. Candidates include the following: At-Large Council Member "A:" Emmett Reistroffer, Rex Rolfing and Manny Steele; At-Large Council Member "B:" Christine M. Erickson and Denny Pierson; Central District: Rebecca Dunn and Michelle Erpenbach; and Southeast District: Rick Kiley and Bonita Schwan.
Also, the Chamber is facilitating a Good Morning Sioux Falls breakfast on Thursday, March 20 at the Best Western PLUS Ramkota Hotel. The breakfast buffet opens at 6:30 a.m., with the program beginning at 7 a.m. and ending by approximately 8:30 a.m. KSOO radio personality Rick Knobe will emcee and moderate. The program includes introductions of the candidates running for Sioux Falls School Board and Sioux Falls City Council, an update on the ballot issues and a question/answer interview with Sioux Falls Mayoral candidates Mike Huether and Greg Jamison. The Chamber and League of Women Voters will also conduct a Sioux Falls School Board Candidate Forum on Thursday, March 27 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Instructional Planning Center (201 E. 38th St.). Candidates are Doug Morrison and Roger Russell II. The forum parameters will be the same for the School Board Forum as for the Municipal Forum.
