Sioux Falls, SD (KELO-AM) Sioux Falls Police are investigating the city's first homicide of the year.
On Sunday, March 16, at 5:03 p.m., Sioux Falls Police, Sioux Falls Fire/Rescue, and Rural Metro Ambulance were sent to a medical emergency at 709 South Garfield Avenue. 56-year-old Kari Ann Kirkegaard was found dead inside.
An autopsy was conducted Monday morning and found the manner of death was consistent with homicide. When detectives began their investigation, it was discovered the victim’s bedding was missing. Residents are asked to check their garbage containers for anything out of the ordinary. If anything unusual is found, please call police.
