SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Sioux Falls Police say even though there’s been an arrest in the murder of Kari Ann Kirkegaard the investigation is continuing.

Officer Sam Clemens says investigators have not determined a motive.

Forty-year-old Christopher Kryger is making his initial court appearance today.  Kryger is charged with murder, rape and burglary, and is being held on a million dollars bond.

Kirkegaard was strangled in her home on Garfield Avenue two weeks ago and her nude body was found in her tub.  Police say she was so brutality strangled that her neck was broken.
