SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Senate Democrats have blocked John Thune's amendments to the unemployment insurance extension bill, that Thune says will creat jobs.
Thune says it’s an example of Congress ignoring the underlying causes of unemployment. He attached six job creating amdments to the extension bill. Thune says the Administration continues draftng unnecessary regulations that stifle job creation and economic growth.
Thune says the first amendment would stop EPA from finalizing greenhouse gas regulations on new and existing if those regulations destroy jobs or raise energy prices.
Before the vote, Thune said he doubed that Majority Leader Harry Reid would allow the amendments to be considered.
