SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - You can now find out who is in the Minnehaha County Jail online.
Sheriff Mike Milstead says go to the county’s website and click on “Who’s Behind Bars.” Milstead says you can search the site by last name. He says you can also access the site on the county's gotwarrants.org site which also has the listings for all the people his office has warrants for.
He says the sites include disclaimers that remind you that not every inmate has had their day in court and are presumed innocent. He says the site is updated every 15 minutes.
Milstead says the goal is to make it easier for family and victims to learn about inmates and reduce calls to the jail.
