SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Officers cornered a suspect Saturday morning after he gave Sioux Falls police the slip earlier in the week.
Lieutenant Jerry Miller says police saw the suspect's car a stopped 45-year-old Anthony Lewis stopped at Minnesota and Russell. Miller says squad cars surrounded Lewis but he rammed his Chevy Cavalier in them slightly injuring an officer. The incident happened around 11:30 Saturday morning.
Lewis is charged with five counts of aggravated assault against police, aggravated eluding, felony intentional damage to property, resisting arrest, suspended driver’s license and substitute license plates.
Miller says officers tried stopping Lewis for a traffice violation last week but he sped off and officers terminated the chase, The same officer saw the suspect's car on Saturday.
