Sioux Falls, SD (KELO AM) - Two people have died on South Dakota roads so far this weekend.

A single vehicle crash west of Sioux Falls Saturday, claimed the life of a Parker teen.  Sixteen-year-old Tonya Anderson was a passenger in a vehicle driven by seventeen-year-old Shadd Tullis of Harrisburg.   Tullis was eastbound on Highway 42 and tried to pass two vehicles, encountered a west bound vehicle, and list control trying to get back into the eastbound lane.  The vehicle left the roadway and hit a utility pole.  Anderson sustained fatal injuries in the crash.  Tullis was airlifted to a Sioux Falls Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  Neither was wearing their seat belt.

Forty-one year old Stephanie Shields of Sioux Falls was killed in a two vehicle accident on I-29 south of Brookings.

Shields was northbound in the southbound lanes and collided with a semi driven by David Ziebarth of Rapid City.   Ziebarth was not injured.  Both were wearing their seat belts.

No other information was available on either crash.
