Sioux Falls, SD (KELO-AM) The 2014 Summit League Basketball Championship at the Sioux Falls Arena pumped over $8.5 million into the local economy. The impact was compiled by the Sioux Falls Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Sioux Falls Sports Authority.
Sports Authority Executive Director, Wes Hall, says the impact came from both dollars spent at local businesses and outside media coverage and value the community received.
Hall says it shows the tremendous value that the tournament, and events like it, can bring to the local economy and he looks forward to seeing what the impact will be next year in the new Sanford Premier Center.
