SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - $5 million have been invested in Minnehaha County so far this year resulting in 130 new jobs.
That’s according to Nick Fosheim of the Minnehaha County Economic Development Foundation who adds that taxable sales are up 14 percent in Minnehaha County.
Fosheim presented the numbers to the Minnehaha County Commission today who reminded him that counties don’t receive revenue from taxable sales.
Fosheim says through 2013 Lincoln and Minnehaha Counties have seen a total of 51 projects resulting in 2,600 jobs, two million square feet of building space and over $244 million invested in real estate and equipment.
He says Dell Rapids, Brandon and Hartford are working on big infrastructure investments that will promise more economic development.
