Sioux Falls, SD (KELO AM) On Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at 3:30 p.m., the Transit Task Force is expected to hold their final meeting at Carnegie Town Hall (235 West 10th Street). The Task Force will discuss increasing fixed-route service and non-profit coordination; public transportation affordability and fares; school services; and reducing reliance on paratransit. The group will conclude their meeting by considering a final report and recommendation to the City Council. Citizens will also be invited to provide public testimony.
The Transit Task Force was created by the City Council to develop a long-term strategy that addresses both fixed route and Paratransit needs in Sioux Falls. The 20-member task force was co-chaired by Councilors Greg Jamison and Rex Rolfing and includes individuals representing transit users, nonprofits, medical facilities, advocacy groups, and other interested parties.
