Sioux Falls, SD (KELO AM) – Tuesday afternoon the Sioux Falls Area Drug Task Force searched a home in downtown near Sunshine Foods that turned out to be a meth lab. Detectives seized used “one pot” vessels, chemicals, and other items used to make methamphetamine. Detectives also seized a small amount of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
As a result of the search, John Coffey, Traci Coffey, and Ronelle Anderson were taken into custody and charged with possession and manufacturing of a controlled substance. A child was also found in the house and taken into protective custody with DSS.
In addition to the possession and manufacturing charges, the trio is facing charges of maintaining a residence where drugs are used or stored, and violation of a drug free zone. John Coffey faces charges of causing a child to be present where methamphetamine is manufactured.
As for Traci Coffey and Anderson, they were out on bond from an arrest earlier this summer for manufacturing.
During the processing of the meth lab, a used “one pot” vessel that was found on the property started on fire outside the residence. A fire truck was on hand at the scene and quickly doused the pot.
