Sioux Falls, SD (KELO AM) - Call it a sick prank – an online story claiming a case of Ebola has been confirmed in two of South Dakota’s largest cities turns out to be someone’s idea of a joke. The posts claims to be from feednewz.com, saying patients in a Rapid City or Sioux Falls hospitals have tested positive for the disease. Representatives from the Rapid City Regional Health system say they have no such cases of the disease to report.
When users click the link, they are taken to a web site saying the story is a prank.
Similar posts have popped up for other cities as well. If any cases of Ebola were actually reported in South Dakota the news would be released through the Department of Health or the Centers for Disease Control.
