Sioux Falls, SD (KELO AM) - Sioux Falls Police Officers and South Dakota Highway Patrol Troopers will hand out candy children who are trick or treating during the Fourth Annual Stickers and Snickers Event.
Over the years, children have been delighted by law enforcement officers handing out sticker badges and candy. The officers will be in Sioux Falls neighborhoods on Halloween night from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
“This event is a great way for officers to meet new families while policing the community,” says Police Chief Doug Barthel. “The officers provide an increased presence in neighborhoods during Halloween and give motorists a visible reminder to drive safely on a night when many children are present.”
All officers will have candy and stickers to hand out, but police calls will still take priority. Special thanks to Lewis Drug for providing the candy to law enforcement.
