SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Pending negotiations, Sioux Falls will contract with Texas-based Paramedics Plus to be the city’s new ambulance provider.
Public Health Director Jill Franken says the quality of services set Paramedics Plus apart from other proposals. Franken says Paramedics Plus hold multiple accredidations in some of the cities and states where they operate.
The vice president of the next ambulance provider to serve Sioux Falls is a Harrisburg native. Mark Postma says Paramedics Plus brings an impressive resume to town. The ambulance provider serves Florida, Texas and Alameda County, California, which includes Oakland.
Franken announced today that, pending negotiations, Paramedic Plus will begin service next May.
The contract with the current provider Rural Metro ends then.
