SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - A Sioux Falls man is charged with felony cruelty to animals for dragging a puppy on a leash until its feet bled.
Officer Sam Clemens says witnesses saw 36-year-old Trinity Swift Hawk dragging the pit bull-mix puppy late Saturday morning on North Spring Avenue.
Clemens says Swift Hawk gave police a fake name and said the dog belonged to relatives. Officers could see a long blood trail on the sidewalk. The puppy was seized by animal control and taken to a veterinarian for treatment.
Clemens says Swift Hawk is also charged with false impersonation and had outstanding warrants.
