SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The Minnehaha County Commission today deferred acting on the appeal of a planning commission decision approving a conditional use permit for a dairy farm southwest of Hartford.

Farmer Kyle Albers says the operation will be state of the art.  He says the operation will consist of robotics requiring fewer hands coming to and from the dairy.  He says a dairy truck will come daily instead of every other day as it does now.

A lawyer representing the township, Jay Leibel, says Albers' plan needs fine tuning.  Leibel says the dairy is a multi-million dollar facility and says Albers' plan is on one handwritten document.

If approved, the Class C Dairy could support up to 999 animals on ten acres.
