SIOUX FALLS, SD – The South Dakota Department of Transportation will begin pavement repair on the southbound lanes of Interstate 229 from the Benson Road interchange (Exit 9) to the Louise Avenue interchange (Exit 1) in Sioux Falls on Monday, July 27.
The contractor will be removing and replacing areas of damaged concrete starting at 6 p.m. and working through the night. During this time, traffic will be controlled with single-lane closures through the work zone. Lane closures will be removed by 6 a.m. each morning.
Once the southbound lanes are complete, the contractor will move to the northbound lanes. All work is expected to be complete by mid-September.
The prime contractor on this $3.8 million project is Interstate Improvement, Inc. of Fairbault, Minnesota.
