SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Another short burst of hot and humid weather is settling over South Dakota through most of the weekend.
Forecaster Todd Heitkamp says heat is the leading cause of weather fatalities.
Hietkamp advises drinking plenty of water which, he says, is the best liquid to take in on hot days. Wear loose fitting and light colored clothing, stay away from black outfits. Stay out of the sun as much as possible and find relief under a tree or shelter.
Heitkamp says highs early next week will moderate into the upper seventies, with rain, but he says the weekend after that will be hot too.
