SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Sioux Falls Police say a 43-year-old female jogger escaped serious injury when she was assaulted this morning on the bike trail in Cherry Rock Park near Cliff Avenue.
Officer Sam Clemens says the attacker passed woman twice riding his bike.
Clemens says the woman just crossed under the Cliff Avenue bridge when the suspect jumped out of the bushes and grabbed for her mouth. He pulled the victim down and she starting screaming and fighting back.
Clemens says the attacker gave up the assault and fled on his bike.
He’s described as an American Indian, mid to late teens, with short, black, spiky hair and wore a black tank top.
