Sunday Morning Stabbing

Sioux Falls, SD (KELO AM) – Sioux Falls Police are investigating a stabbing early Sunday morning.

 Officers responded to Giliberto’s Restaurant just after 1:00 a.m. for a report of a stabbing.  Officers discovered two men had been assaulted; one with a non-life threatening stab wound to the back and the other with injuries to his face and head.  The stabbing victim was transported to the hospital via ambulance.

 According to the victims, they had been walking near the railroad tracks, between Main Ave and Dakota Ave, south of 14th Street, when they were approached and assaulted from behind by four to six unknown Hispanic or Native American males.  The victims fled to Giliberto’s where family members called 911. 

The victims were able to give vague descriptions of two of the possible suspects.  One of the suspect described as a Hispanic male, 5’10”, 190lbs, wearing a red shirt; the other was described as a male of unknown race, 6’1”, 210lbs, wearing a gray shirt with a “skyline” design. 

If anyone has information regarding this assault, they are encouraged to call police or Crime Stoppers.
