SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELOAM) - The Sioux Falls Human Relations Commission is accepting nominations for the annual Humanitarian Award.
Tina Lemieux with the City’s Human Relations Office says nominees must show an appreciation of human diversity.
Lemieux says to be eligible, the nominees must demonstrate the spirit of humanitarianism by promoting positive interaction, acceptance, respect and appreciation of human diversity. Lemieux says that can mean economically they're diverse, or their ability to do different kinds of tasks they're diverse or ethnically they're diverse. She says diversity means a lot of different things.
