SIOUX FALLS – The South Dakota Department of Transportation will be installing a temporary bridge over the Interstate 229 ramps in Sioux Falls starting Friday, Oct. 23, at 10 p.m.
The contractor will close southbound I-229 to the I-29 southbound ramp and southbound I-29 to the I-229 northbound ramp between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.
Motorists will need to find an alternate route during the closure.
This work is being completed in preparation to reconstruct the I-29/I-229 interchange in 2016.
The completion date for the $6.2 million preliminary construction work is Nov. 6.
The prime contractor for this project is Runge Enterprise Inc. of Sioux Falls.
