Sioux Falls, SD (KELO AM) – The 2015 edition of the Children’s Miracle Network Radiothon not only set a record, it helped the annual fundraiser reach a milestone.
$204,700 was raised by listeners of KTWB, KELO FM, and Q95.7, smashing last year’s total of just over $180,000 and bringing the ten year total of the event to over $1.4 million raised for CMN.
Chris Carter, part of the Chris and Doc morning show on KTWB, has been a part of the Radiothon since its inaugural year. He credits the growth of the event to a growing team of families and individuals who have committed to the event. "The family we have built is just getting bigger and bigger." He adds that families and children who have benefited from the fundraiser keep coming back, "to see these people that are served by CMN come back year after year, even kids who don't have to come back or parents who have lost kids come back and help to raise money, it's just unbelievable."
Every dollar raised from the Radiothon since 2006 has stayed local to help families with seriously ill children offset the cost of medical treatments, travel and lodging, and other expenses.
