SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Most residents living in communities featuring parks, trails, bike paths and sidewalks say they exercise three or more days a week.

Janelle Waldock with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota says how communities are built can determine how much physical activity people get.

Waldock says future transportation projects should accomodate not only motorized vehicle but also walkers and bicyclists.  She says features that highlight physical activities make communities more attractive places to live, work and play.

Sioux Falls has over 80 parks comprising over 3,100 acres and a 26 mile paved bike path.
