SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - A proposed city ordinance giving the Sioux Falls City Clerk flexibility with the council agenda will be amended so it will continue to be posted Fridays before the next meeting.
Clerk Lorie Hogstad says the changes are for some of the administrative deadlines in her office. Hogstad says the proposal was not intended, contrary to popular opinion, to change the posting of the agenda on Friday. The amendment makes it clear that the agenda will continue to be ready by Friday.
Hogstad says, for instance, agreements and contracts must be in at noon on Thursday but bid openings are on Thursday too.
The second reading of the ordinance is tonight. Hogstad says six councilors must support the measure for approval.
The council is meeting on Monday so they can travel to Pierre tomorrow and take part in Municipal Government Day at the Legislature in Pierre.
