SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The owner of the Garretson Gazette told the Minnehaha County Commission today that he continues printing their legal notices even though he’s not being paid.
Garrick Moritz says it was upsetting to him to learn that the Gazette was granted legal status but at no cost.
Moritz told the commission that Matt Anderson of the Minnehaha Messenger informed him that the two publications were granted legal status. When Moritz sent the county a bill he was informed that his paper's status was at no cost.
Moritz told the commission that if he couldn't charge the county a line fee he would rather not have legal status. He says for now he's still printing the county's legal notices.
The commission advised Moritz they would take up the issue later.
