Sioux Falls, SD (KELO-AM) The City of Sioux Falls on Wednesday announced a major hotel and restaurant development on four acres on Elmwood Golf Course.
Officials say the development will include a Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites, an attached conference center, and a Crooked Pint Ale House restaurant.
Mayor Mike Huether tells KELO Radio it will be like a resort: play golf, have a beer, stay at the hotel and go over to the Sanford PREMIER Center for a big event.
“This development will be a great addition to the Sports and Entertainment District, an area of Sioux Falls that has incredible potential to keep growing,” says Darrin Smith, Director of Community Development. Smith says more than $80 million in private investment has taken place in this highly visible part of town,
The new development will have approximately 110 hotel rooms, restaurant seating for 200, and conference capacity of about 300. It will be constructed for an estimated cost of $12 million.
