SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - A Sioux Falls man was arrested for kidnapping yesterday after grabbing his girlfriend and refusing to let her leave their room at the Arena Motel.
Clemens says the incident started the night before when the couple got into an argument. He says 26-year-old Daniel Jay Bien allegedly pushed and strangled the 27-year-old woman to the point of losing consciousness. Things calmed down but he again got angry at her the next morning.
Clemens says the two continued arguing and this time Bien allegedly threatened to shoot her with a b-b gun pistol.
The woman yelled at a passing neighbor for help and that's who called police. Bien was not at the motel when officers arrived but they found him nearby and he had the b-b handgun with him.
Bien is also charged with domestic aggravated assault.
