SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Sioux Falls Police will add 16 extra officers to Saturday's day patrol between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Lieutenant Dave McIntire says they'll watch for impaired drivers, speeders and red light runners.
McIntire says the goal of the saturation patrol is to reduce crashes and accidents. He says police, and the public, understand that there are a few motorists that aren't driving safely.
Saturation patrols are scattered throughout the year at various times.
