Sioux Falls, SD (KELO-AM) Sioux Falls has traditionally low turnout in city elections, so Mayor Mike Huether appealed to citizens to get out and vote Tuesday, April 12.
“Today is a critical day for the City of Sioux Falls, its citizens and our future, so I am asking all of you to vote," said the Mayor, "It is easy, it takes little time out of your day, and it is the right thing to do for you, your kids and your neighbors,”
Four out of the eight City Council seats are up for grabs, as well as two School Board seats, and there are six charter amendments to decide.
City Clerk Tom Greco told KELO Radio early Tuesday afternoon that it was smooth sailing so far, except for people calling in asking where they should vote. There may be a little confusion this election because the voting takes place in the precincts not at voting centers.
